The Ajrak is a block printed cloth roughly 3 meters long. The highly specialized method of block making and hand-dyeing Ajraks is a family craft tradition in the Sindh province of Pakistan, passed on from generation to generation. The dominant colors in the Ajrak are rich crimson and deep indigo, on a background of white and black, which gives definition to the colored geometric printed patterns. The history of the Ajrak print can be traced to as far back as the ancient Egyptian and Indus Valley civilizations. Today, the Ajrak is an essential part of the apparel of all Sindhi people; worn by men as turbans and by women as shawls. Our Cotton Duvet Comforter Cover Set is a celebration of traditional Sindhi textile art.
