Since the beginning of the history of quilting, artisans sat in a circle around a large frame and made quilts. They put together all these different fabrics in different ways to express themselves. Quilting is a tradition that has been passed from generation to generation. The goal of a quilt has always been to keep someone warm, besides the artistic value. Here at Bedding Super Mall we promote this traditional way of quilting. We consider quilts a form of art. We provide handmade quilting in the respect of these traditions and the belief that handmade products have a superior quality and respect for traditions that are getting lost in our "modern" way of living. If you look for convenience, machine quilting is quicker than hand quilting therefore cheaper. But the quality and prices also depend on the complexity of the quilting. A quilt for a crib can take a day or three days. A quilt for a bed could take three months. Check out our selection of handmade quilts in respect of a skill that has to be preserved.
Tips to "treat" your quilts: 1. Always keep your quilts out of direct light to avoid discoloration 2. When storing your quilts never fold them but roll them 3. Do not store quilts in plastic, but use clean sheets or other fabrics to cover them 4. Wash your quilts by hand with products for delicate fabrics 5. Do not put them in a drier, but dry them in open air 6. Do not dry clean quilts. 7. Only if the your quilt's tag specify so, you can use a washing machine (always cold water and gentle cycle)
