Our brightly coloured cotton bedspread with matching cushions is a reproduction of a unique antique blanket. The women of a nomadic tribe in India's Sindh desert produce blankets like these. The textiles are known as snake quilts. The term has to do with the quilt stitching which meanders its way through the front and reverse fabric uniting both layers. The original blankets are hand stitched. We have used professional sewing machines for the snake-like lines on our quilt. An eye-catching detail is the lace border around the pretty blanket. The cotton velvet in pink creates a sensational effect. The atmosphere achieved by the fabric used for the cushion is positively regal. The velvet and quilt cushions have zippers.
