Features
The large patterns first appeared in the culture of central Asian countries. The generous circular patterns are symbolic of the sun. These ornaments are the only remaining feature which reveal the source of their inspiration. The patterns on our materials are not embroidered, they are printed on without losing any of their colourful splendour. The quilt, large cushion, small pink cushion are all made of cotton velvet, a material very much in vogue at the moment. The quilted seams of the velvet quilt were done by hand, with the two top and bottom layers stitched together with the cotton fleece batting. The result is a beautiful surface structure. The same is true for the long, opulently embroidered cotton cushion. Although the embroidery pattern comes from a completely different culture, India, it goes wonderfully with the Suzani style printed textiles. The lilac-coloured woollen blanket on the bench is made from soft lambs wool. The pink-coloured woollen blanket is woven from exquisite mohair wool. Mohair is a prized wool from the angora goat which keeps you cosily warm. Phulkari cushion, with filling
